Filming Musicians & Ministers in Parliament
Sometimes, work , play and cause come together.
UK Music hired me to cover the launch of the #LetItBeeb campaign in Portcullis House.
This involved a security search (keys, not a knife) by the good people at the gates of power, meeting my heroes, filming in a place that I mustn’t show on film, serious points about the future of our BBC, being seen, but not seen, filming a live gig by Jake Bugg (got it, it’s awesome, can’t show it – sorry), capturing 3 speeches, ingratiating myself with politicians and pop stars, capturing testimony to further the aims of the campaign (sign here), tasting obscenely fine party snacks and then drinking heavily in the House of Commons with awesome dedicated people.
Tough times.
Hard work is good for the soul, but it’s rarely this rewarding and so much fun.
Here’s a selection of the event.
